Rosé 1971

Tasting notes

"Some vintages of this treasure of a wine are quite simply fantastic. The colour has always had the same deep pink hue. The effervescence is sensational. This is a serious wine, exuding magnificent vinosity. It exhibits all the elements required to make a really great red bourgogne. The spices, coffee aromas, smokiness and vegetal fruitiness are redolent of beetroot. The length on the palate speaks of the best dark chocolate. It's a rare and clear affirmation of a pinot noir of the first order." Richard Juhlin, "4000 champagnes"

The 1971 Harvest

The year consisted of a cold, dry winter and spring frosts which affected a considerable part of the vineyard. Flowering in June took place in difficult, stormy conditions. The harvest began on 18 September.
