"A deep golden color with a healthy mousse. A very idiosyncratic Dom Pérignon, without the usual fruit and roast bonanza. Instead the wine is dominated by truffles, leather, meat, and tar." Richard Juhlin, November 1998

Harvesting began hastily on 8 September, despite unfavourable weather conditions over the majority of the period.
