1961Tasting notes
"Tasted for the first time in 1971. Elegant and refined. A really lovely bouquet, smooth, well-balanced, with hints of the "fishiness" of pinot noir and the smokiness of chardonnay . After a few moments in the glass, it becomes even smoother, with a hint of barley sugar. Discreetly mellow for Dom Perignon, with perfect body, flavour and length. I gave it a very high score, the highest I've ever given a champagne." Michael Broadbent, "Le Livre des Millesimes, Les Grands Vins de France", 2nd edition, 1993
