1969Tasting notes
With a complex and quite subtle nose, this wine exhibits hints of bitter chocolate, stone fruits and preserved citrus fruits. Some slight notes of caramel, undergrowth and faded flowers. Strong and well structured on the palate, it has depth, and a somewhat restrained, sober constitution. Long considered rather haughty, this wine was slow to reveal its perfect structure.
The 1969 Harvest
Weather conditions were unstable and difficult throughout the year. Flowering was late and came at a time of frequent, severe storms. The dry, sunny spell in September meant that the grape harvest could finally begin on 1 October.
